Lung Cancer Screening Program Receives  the ACCC Innovator Award

The PIH Health Lung Cancer Screening Program has been selected as a recipient of the Association of Community Cancer Center’s (ACCC) Innovator Award for outstanding contributions to enhancing quality cancer care in the community.

PIH Health will be recognized for this achievement at the ACCC 2015 National Oncology Conference in Portland, Oregon October 21-23, 2015.

The PIH Health Lung Cancer Screening Program improves the quality and timeliness of lung cancer care from the diagnosis to start of treatment as well as communication among the multidisciplinary team. As a Lung Cancer Alliance Screening Center of Excellence, PIH Health offers state-of-the-art equipment and procedures, and industry-leading physicians.

“We recognize the importance of each and every scan we perform,” said Daniel Saket MD,
PIH Health Hospital - Whittier medical director, Radiology. “We know that while some patients are undergoing routine tests, others are anxiously awaiting what could be life-changing results.”

The Lung Cancer Screening Program seeks to empower patients to be advocates for their own health while providing compassionate and professional care. It is also an American College of Radiology (ACR) designated lung cancer screening center.

The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) promotes the entire continuum of quality cancer care for patients. Since 1974, the ACCC has been helping oncology professionals adapt to the complex changes of delivering quality cancer care.
