PIH Health Earns 2022 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired Recognition
PIH Health is pleased to announce that The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has recognized PIH Health Downey Hospital, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, PIH Health Whittier Hospital and PIH Health Physicians as 2022 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired recipients. The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve health and care in their communities.
This is the ninth time that PIH Heath Whittier Hospital has received the Most Wired award recognition and the fifth time for PIH Health Downey Hospital, with both hospitals earning a Certified Level 8 recognition for Acute Care settings. It is the fourth time PIH Health Physicians has received recognition, earning a certified Level 7 for Ambulatory settings. However, it is PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital’s first quality award from CHIME, rising from last year’s baseline score of Level 6 to a Certified Level 8 in line with PIH Health’s other hospitals, earning special recognition as the Most Improved organization. This great achievement was due to the implementation of technology infrastructure advancements and updates to medical software systems at PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital which now align with those used across PIH Health. The installation of the updates improved the coordination and delivery of care system wide, resulting in better care for our patients.
“We are honored to once again receive Digital Health Most Wired awards, and even more delighted that our newest hospital, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, has also earned CHIME’s recognition in alignment with our other hospitals,” said Jason Fischer, PIH Health Chief Information Officer. “This achievement can only be attributed to the hard work, dedication, and innovative efforts of our staff and physicians. As our health system continues to expand, we remain committed to delivering an increasingly higher-quality of care to our patients by providing the latest technological advancements in healthcare that improve efficiency, accuracy, and ensure better outcomes for our communities.”
Among the more than 38,000 organizations surveyed by CHIME, PIH Health ranked above peers in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure and patient engagement. The survey assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.
The Digital Health Most Wired survey and recognition program serves as a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-up” for healthcare organizations across the world. As success in digital health increasingly determines the quality of patient care, the scope of the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey reflects the progress of leading healthcare providers as they reinvent healthcare for a new century.
“We are proud to honor PIH Health’s exceptional dedication to excellence in digital health,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “Their pioneering performance in the industry inspires other organizations by example.
