PIH Health Breaks Ground on New Medical Office Building in Whittier
Project to Expand Access to Primary and Specialized Care, Strengthening Community Healthcare Resources
Whittier, Calif. (December 19, 2025) – PIH Health celebrated the groundbreaking of its new medical office building on the PIH Health Whittier Hospital campus during a ceremony held Thursday, December 18, 2025. Located at the corner of Washington Boulevard and Putnam Street, the state-of-the-art facility will provide convenient access to essential outpatient services to serve the growing healthcare needs of the community.
The building is scheduled to open in 2027.
The new medical office building represents a major investment in enhancing patient care, increasing capacity, and bringing additional services closer to home. The facility will feature an urgent care center, imaging services, outpatient surgery center, eye clinic, an infusion center, primary care, and a wide range of specialty physician offices. With these expanded services, PIH Health will be better equipped to meet the evolving healthcare needs of patients throughout the region.
The ceremony included remarks from City of Whittier Mayor Joe Vinatieri, PIH Health leadership, and representatives from Boldt, the developer and construction partner for the project. Community leaders, elected officials, and members of the PIH Health Board of Directors and administration were also in attendance.
