Southern California Utility Recognizes PIH Health Whittier Hospital  for Energy Efficiency Project

PIH Health Whittier Hospital was recognized by Southern California Edison (SCE) for its LED retrofitting energy efficiency project and received a rebate of $215,241.95 through the SCE Energy Incentive Program. PIH Health retrofitted 11,268 fluorescent fixtures to LED light bulbs throughout its facility which resulted in an estimated savings of $295,643 per year, and an electrical savings of 2,081,999 Kilowatt Hours (kWh) per year.

“PIH Health is invested in its patients, community and environment,” said Mark St. Julien, PIH Health administrative director of Facilities. “As a result we have taken the necessary measures to maintain an energy efficient facility to provide patients with an enhanced experience and to produce fewer greenhouse gases for our environment and community.
