Transformational Leadership

Description of Team: 

The role of the Transformational Leadership committee is to create a strong vision for the future and the structure and environment necessary to achieve that vision. Leaders are required to transform their organization’s values, beliefs, and behaviors. The Transformational Leader must lead people to where they need to go to meet the demands of the future. This type of leadership requires vision, influence, clinical knowledge and a strong expertise relating to professional nursing practice.

Plan:

Align the professional nursing infrastructure at PIH Health with the Magnet Model.

Equip all members of our nursing leadership team to transform PIH Health to meet the needs of the future.

Encourage new ideas and innovations and mentor front line nurses to deliver excellent care in all settings while finding joy in their work.

Structural Empowerment

Description of Team:

The role of the Structural Empowerment committee is to promote and ensure the flow of information and that decision-making is bi-directional and horizontal between and among professional nurses at the bedside, the leadership team and the Chief Nursing Officer. Most recently this team is evaluating commitment to professional development in Nursing and Ancillary Departments. 

Plan:

Align the professional nursing infrastructure at PIH Health with the Magnet Model.

Develop method to promote increased professionalism and leadership in partnership councils.

Exemplary Professional Practice

Description of Team:

The role of the Exemplary Professional Practice committee is to create a vision and systems that foster a professional nursing practice.  It also supports the use of knowledge and evidence to generate the best possible outcomes for patients, families, communities and the healthcare team.

New knowledge, innovation & improvements

Description of Team:

The purpose of New Knowledge, Innovations & Improvements Council is to promote the integration of nursing research and evidence-based practice and to provide support and advice to guide interested nurses wanting to begin work in research. 

New Knowledge, Innovations & Improvements promotes creative, innovative thinking, which can lead to new nursing research ideas and projects that result in positive patient outcomes.
