Board certified in Family Medicine since 1983, Augusto Rodriguez MD has extensive experience treating people of all ages in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Rodriguez specializes in treating the entire family, including children as young as two months old. Within his practice, Dr. Rodriguez emphasizes preventative medicine and the benefits of a healthy diet and exercise. Born in Colombia, Dr. Rodriguez and his family came to the United States when he was 14. Dr. Rodriguez received his bachelor of science from University of Southern California (USC) and earned his medical degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He then returned to USC for residency training through a program at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana, where he served as chief resident. When not treating patients, Dr. Rodriguez spends time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys golf and tennis.

I liked how the nurses treated me. I just didn't like how I didn't have time to talk to the doctor. He had a lot of patients.

My appointment was a phone appointment due to my symptoms. The nurse called a few minutes before my appointment time to gather some information and told me the doctor was with a patient and would came me. I didn't think I would have to wait over a hour from my schedule time. The doctor did apologize but it seems patients in office had more priority over me. I would assume that I would be seen in order of appointment time.

Some of the additional staff in the Dr. Area were more abrupt, but I have been with Dr. Rodriguez and (name removed) for years. They have always treated me very well and with respect. Love them.

Problems with prescriptions. Dr gave me 2 Prescriptions but my pharmacy only Recd 1. But the 1 prescription they recd dr made a mistake. He told me to take for 10 days but he sent to pharmacy for 5 days only. I called 3 days in a roll to report the problem. Every time I called, I water for 30 mins but then the receptionist only took notes. I called 5 times on day 1. 3 times on day 2. 1 time on day 3. On day 4, The dr office finally called me back n told me they will fax the second - missing- prescription. They will tell my pharmacy to give drugs me 5 more days for the first prescription On day 5, I try to pick up both of my meds. They have 1 but for the meds that I was short for 5days, the pharmacy didn't Recd any things from the dr office. In the end I have to pay out of my pocket for the drugs since the dr didn't change the prescription thus insurance won't pay It is so stressful. I can't reach the dr at all. I went to see him but didn't take the meds until 5 days later cuz the pharmacy didn't Recd the prescription. It doesn't seem any body care about the patient

I just wish that the doctors would try to be a little more friendly and dedicate a little more time to us, since from the moment they enter the office, they tell you that they cannot take much time and that you be clear and precise when we are paying for a time that they dedicate to us to clearly listen to our problems and I think it is fair that they try to dedicate a little more time to us and analyze to be able to analyze exactly, what are the problems that we have and that they not only limit us to one thing idea that from who comes in they tell us, specifically we are not going to talk about their problems, because today is today is a physical checkup, it is supposed that if we are going to the doctor it is because we have problems and even if it is a physical checkup. We need a little more help and more time.

I was sick on Dec 23rd called to make an appointment next day and I didn't get one till Jan 3rd and that too only a teleconference. By then, a patient either die or suffer. And Doctor has nothing to do with it. Ever since PIH took over this seems to be a case. Most likely, my family and I will be looking for another facility to go to. We have been going to PMG for more then 30 yrs... time to move out

Staff is not friendly. Wait time, way too long. We're talking about from 20 minutes to 40 minutes wait before I see the doctor. After taking into the room they will take another 20 minutes. Staff will not respond questions. I asked several question before the doctor so they can tell the doctor and they didn't. Doctor doesn't let you explain. Every time I want to talk, I want to say something, doctor will stop you and say you need to wait. And then when he asked you, he kept telling you that he's not the one to answer these questions, that there's always something wrong with this doctor, but that's the only one I have.

Dr. Rodriguez is just fine, but his staff, particularly [name removed] is very ... very aggravating. He wrote a prescription for me on 10-1 for [PHI removed], and [name removed] was supposed to fax that, and the sleep study report from September 20th to Apria, so that they could order a [PHI removed] that for me, and there's a four week back up on that. She ... she hasn't gotten that done, and I received calls from PIH the Friday after I saw her, where I was getting fax calls from PIH. She was actually trying to fax the reports to me, and as of today, the 26th, I have yet to gotten confirmation

That the treatment with reception is very hostile, slow and in the area of taking blood they take a long time, they do not speed up and they have a long wait.

I really liked Dr. Rodriguez. He was very good, listened and explained everything. But then he requested two prescriptions for me. I went to the pharmacy and I got one, I called the office five times asking the nurse to call me back and she never called me back. One time they did get through to her and transferred, transferred me to her and she answered and hung up. So whether she, we got disconnected, she never called me back. I didn't feel well. I ended up driving to the pharmacy to see if my prescription was there. It was not. So I had to drive back to the office. This is the next day, I had to drive to the office and request a paper prescription so that I can go back to the pharmacy and have it filled. I was very disappointed.

Melissa at the front desk is extremely helpful, the nurse [name removed] very accommodating and very helpful as well. [name removed] at ex ray very helpful. The doctor was very nice and very helpful.
