I'm very happy to be back with PIH! Dr.Chiao Yen is a wonderful family doctor, she took care of me when I was working. My work place closed n I was put on other health plan, I was not happy with their care. Thank you for taking me back PIH

Dr. Yen has always been an active listener & you can tell that she authentically cares for her patients. After experiencing several different doctors at PIH over the years, I wouldn't want to see anyone else because she is great!!!!!

I called in to " add" a recheck of my ear infection because they want to know " everything " they are doing at appointment. My appointment was to get referral to mri so it was a short appointment, and I wanted to make sure she had time to look in my ear. ( still hurting been 10 days. ) I told intake person about it too. Dr. Came in went through the mri appointment part and said thanks and left. I should have ran after her I guess(?) when they came in with my referral I told the intake person " again" and asked nicely saying I would wait till she's done with the patient she was with. He informed me that it was going to be a " long appointment " and said I could wait, in the waiting room. I once added on a recheck to an appointment at the appointment and got yelled at ( not this provider) and that's why I called ahead to add it this time. Urgent care suggested it. I understand sometimes things get overlooked and missed but what else can I do ? Dr.s just don't get enough time. I'm not sure you can do anything to improve the attention and time.

The staff was great

I thought Dr. Yen was a good provider constantly ordered testing, sending referrals and seemed thorough. However over time I realized that while more labs were frequently ordered I wasn't getting clear answers or meaningful discussions about my concerns and symptoms. I often left appointments feeling unheard and without a clear plan moving forward. My final experience confirmed those concerns. During a follow-up appointment, I was told my PCP was assigned to an other physician. After that my visit felt rushed and dismissive. As someone who had been under Dr. Yen's care for years and was attending a scheduled follow-up appointment, I expected my concerns to be listened to and addressed appropriately. I later confirmed with my insurance that the information I was given was incorrect and that Dr. Yen was, in fact my assigned physician. Later also confirming with the scheduling department that Dr. Yen is my assigned physician. Unfortunately, the quality of care I received that day made me feel as though my concerns were not important. I believe patients deserve to feel listened to, have their questions addressed, and receive thoughtful follow-up care rather than simply being sent for additional testing without discussion. I hope this feedback can be used to improve communication between the office and patients and to ensure that administrative misunderstandings do not affect the quality of care provided.

The front desk, nurses, and doctor are very friendly.

Yes, the office is wonderful except it's very difficult to get in. It takes a long, long wait, very difficult to get in in any emergency need or just anything. It's just, which is not her fault, I'm sure, because she is wonderful, but just very difficult to get in.

Everything was a referral . I ended up walking g away with 3 referrals. There were More that she wanted to refer. We could have done all that online.

Dr. Yen is great

Dr. Yen is nice, corteous, and respectful but she always seems to be in a hurry. Perhaps she's overbooked? She went over my lab results super fast and barely recommended ways to improve my health. I'd like to have more of a preventive approach rather than remedial.

The facility was clean and comfortable. All staff I interacted with were kind and informative.

Dr. Yen is an exceptional knowledgeable doctor. She truly is an invaluable asset to PIH! Dr. Yen is truly a doctor I will seek advice when the tough medical questions arise on my health.

(Name removed) helped me with my vitals, check me in and out. He did a great job explaining things and listening to me. He even called me later that day to schedule a follow-up appointment. I explained to him that the specialist would not be able to see me for a month even though the referral was STAT. He said he would call to see if there was anything sooner. He called me back 5 minutes later and said I had an appointment on the 20th. He went above and beyond. I have been a PIH patient for a long time. Unfortunately, this type of service is not always provided by the support staff. It is nice to see that PIH still has employees like Andrew who go above and beyond to serve their patients. This was also my first time with Dr. Chiao. She was also very kind and did a great job of listening to me and explaining things in a way I could understand.

This office is clean and tidy. The desk staff were a little busy figuring something out so it took them a minute to check me in. Dr. Yen and her assistant (name removed) are the dream team! They both were very detailed in their duties while engaging in light conversation. The office visit was very comfortable being treated with care, kindness and given all of the information I needed! :)

It's always a pleasure to do office visit with Dr. Yen. She's very warm and welcoming, listens carefully to what I have to say and always recommends the best ways to address my medical issues.

She can be more patient with the patient, with the with the patient. She is always like in a rush, okay? So you need to tell her fast what you need. And if you make an appointment for one reason, she only wants to appoint in one thing, not in the rest of your ill.

What's that mean?

Dr. Yen was in a hurry, didn't have time to sit there and talk to me, didn't feel like I was cared about. I was trying to establish a relationship, doesn't seem to be happening. Seems like these doctors are being overworked because they don't have time to talk to their patients, and they're just in a hurry, and just want to get you out.

Dr Yen has always been extremely caring with my Healthcare and ensured I received the access to any specialist necessary.

Very difficult to get an appointment for an emergency or something that comes up other than a physical. Even after urgent care recommends you see your doctor that same week.

Hi, my experience in Dr. Yen's office was great from the beginning to the end. The staff checking me in was courteous, the staff bringing me back to the room was courteous and efficient. The doctor was wonderful as always. I got a follow-up appointment scheduled as I was leaving. All in all, a great experience. Dr. Yen's the best.

Dr Chiao Yen is a wonderful doctor.

So I went recently to PIH. It's typically my usual doctor's office. This is nothing in regards to Dr. Yen, but I did want to leave an experience that did make me feel uncomfortable with the nurse. This is my first time ever having a male nurse, and while he was friendly and chatty, I felt like it was a bit much. He did compliment that I had nice shoulders, which did make me feel uncomfortable, and then proceeded to ask me to flex so he could see the muscles on my arm, and then touched my bicep to then continue saying, yeah, you have nice arms. I think when I was going for to talk to Dr. Yen was anxiety related, so I don't understand why this was necessary at all. It definitely wasn't, in my opinion, and that left me feeling very uncomfortable. So hopefully I think maybe more ?

All of my experiences with PIH have been beyond great. Although it was my first time seeing her she took her time and thoroughly examined me.

I also wanted to mention asst who helped me before I been seen by Dr Yen he was friendly, and very detailed oriented. Very important in that business. Was the 1st time I met him after going to this office over 15 years. He did a good job of explaining everything and making my appointment for next year.

I I would like a referral to a dermatologist.

Well, I had an appointment at the other office on La Mirada, I think it is, in City of Industry, or, I mean, Santa Fe Springs. And it was a bad experience. But this Dr. Yen, she is awesome. I'm more than happy that I finally found someone who I could work with for the rest of my life. I'm 65. And yes, I would be more than happy. I wish my whole family would come with me, with her, with you guys. PIH, you guys are great, respectful. professional, awesome, just awesome.

I've known Dr. Yen for several years. She was my Dr. a few times. I chose to see her this time purposely because over the years I've come to view her as one of the most knowledgeable about medication. She explained exactly how my new medicine would work once I've taken it. She showed me on her computer screen exactly what the medicine was for and so on. She's is also very thorough. She doesn't mind ordering tests or having available ones done right there in the exam room. Throughout the years, I complained about her twice- once when she first started at PIH and then again last year, because although she is an excellent doctor, she would come into the room, quickly buzz about saying something, not ask any questions and leave. After my first complaint many years ago, she began taking a little more time to listen, which was great. A couple years ago, she was back to the buzzing about quickly then leaving the room. Well, this passed time, she did everything right! I'm very grateful for that. Hope she keeps it up

The problem that you have at your office is if you call to try to get an appointment because you have an illness and you're concerned about it, it's two, three weeks out and they have no openings. They should have some kind of openings for certain emergencies so you can get in there and not have to wait two to three weeks and not go to urgent care. So that's where the big improvement needs to be.

I haven't been happy with PIH this appointment went well and Dr Yen was very caring and listened to all my concerns. Mixed emotions still but hanging in there

Dr. Yen was a kind of Rush me , don't know why? After all , I mentioned to the Nurse , this nurse was very nice. But Dr. Yen's face & voice tone was very Cold with mean attitude makes me very nervous. I'm so regrets I select her from Google. I was a longtime patient of Urgent Care and seen Bone fracture doctor .... I feel so sorry for myself for this appointment to see her.
