Daniel J. Lee MD is an orthopedic surgeon who completed a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and is double board certified in Orthopedic and Hand Surgery. Dr. Lee feels honored that patients allow him into their lives at their most vulnerable moments and he strives to establish a connection with each patient. Dr. Lee is originally from Philadelphia and is a die-hard Philly sports fan, which causes him more heartache than joy. He also plays golf and loves exploring the world with his family. In 2020, he accomplished his life-long goal of competing on Jeopardy! and met Alex Trebek.

It took me about 40 minutes to get to see the doctor.

My experience was very quick. I did not have to wait a long time to be seen by the doctor even after I made an appointment. Dr. Lee was very professional and to the point which I liked. Told me what procedures that we could do and took care of it and I was out of there. I will see him again if necessary.

For the most part, the surgery and post-surgery, I'm satisfied. The one thing I had concerns was just talking to him before the surgery and talking to him after the surgery. I had bleeding in my wound and it persisted. And he seemed not too worried about it, which I can respect. But I don't know. I wish he would have seen it or I don't know. I feel like I had limited time with him and he was in a rush. But the surgery seems okay, but it's only been less than a week, so I'll see my first follow-up how it is. But just felt like he was short in time and had minimal time for me. But the surgery seems good. Thanks.

When I had my appointment with Dr. Lee on the 13th, he gave me a cortisone injection, but he rushed through giving me the injection. He didn't wait for the palm of my hand to be numb, and he was pretty rough with the injection. So I ended up with a bruise. And my prior injections that he's given me, I never felt any pain. And this time, I just felt like he was just really rushed and really didn't take any care when he gave me the injection. So I was just really surprised by that. Thank you.

Office staff was helpful and courteous. However, I had to wait for 45 minutes before being seen. Office was hot and uncomfortable. I was scheduled for a PRP process that was not approved by my insurance, which would have saved me $35. I would not have even showed up.

It took me 30 minutes to exit the parking area, as the machine to pre-pay was broken but the system was still insisting everyone pay for the mechanical arm to be raised to allow each car to leave. There must have been 25 cars backed up trying to leave. Outrageous!

I'd like to give a comment on the receptionist. Her name is (name removed). She showed compassion. She was very thorough in helping me to schedule the earliest appointment for my child. Yes, Dr. Lee was great, very professional, and I previously saw Dr. (name removed) who's no longer with PIH, and Dr. Lee was able to pick up right where Dr. (name removed) and I left off. And he reviewed Dr. (name removed) nodes and made sure that my concerns were addressed. Dr. Lee put forth a treatment care plan that was enacted very quickly. From x-rays to examination and prescribing additional tests and interim care the visit was both comforting and comfortable.

I wanted to share feedback about my recent appointment with Dr. Daniel Lee 10/29/25 During my visit, I received a cortisone shot, but it seemed the doctor wasn't aware that it was my third shot. This made me feel like my chart hadn't been properly reviewed before the procedure. Additionally, the way the doctor spoke to me while explaining things came across as rude and dismissive. I left the appointment feeling uncomfortable and disrespected. I value the care I receive from your office, but I wanted to bring this to your attention in hopes that future interactions can be handled with more understanding and professionalism. Everything was great in the office. Doctor, you were great. (name removed) was great. When I went to the other place, they said they had the brace that I had, didn't have it. Then they said they were going to get it and have it the next day. Then they said 72 hours, I didn't get it. So the only thing I was sad about is it took me a week to get a brace on my broken arm. And I don't think that's good. And I'm just kind of sad about that, but you guys treated me well, but the follow through with a broken arm at 63 and didn't have a calf or a brace until one week later. So that's the only thing. Thanks.

Dr. Lee is very attentive, great bedside manner, easy to talk to, listen to me. I really appreciate it. The nurses were all great. I think the only thing that is somewhat could be better handled is the registration on part of PIH. I had to do it three times just to get it to function correctly. Thank you.

Dr Lee listened to my concerns Re my arthritis in both hands and answered all my questions ( I brought a printed list). He patiently explained source of my pain and gave me options for tx. He offered to give me steroid injections to both thumbs. I explained that last time another Dr gave me steroid injections I screamed for pain of procedure. He told me he would inject some anesthesia into area then come back and give me steroid shot. He also suggested to add manual traction to thumb (with assist of staff member) while injecting steroid to joint to allow medicine to better access the joint space. This attention to detail and my comfort and spending the time to explain my condition, my options n the procedure he was going to do impressed me. This is the kind of doctor that everyone hopes to get. He will be my ortho Dr from now on.

I was there Thursday morning. I was told that the operating scheduler would call me later that day or the next day, which would have been Friday. I never heard from them so far. So I'm still waiting for someone to schedule me for surgery. I'd like someone to call me as soon as possible. That's it.

During my visit, the office staff and nurse were pleasant. The experience with the doctor was completely different. He wasn't blatantly disrespectful or rude, but he was very dismissive and seemed like he was in a rush and not thorough about giving me explanations of my condition. I had to squeeze my questions in quick because he was so curt.

I didn't get the treatment that I needed for the most part. Dr Lee didn't bother to explain why I didn't need a therapy which was the main reason I was sent to his clinic by my primary doctor. Weird doctor, didn't bother to introduce himself.

I had seen this doctor once before and felt with a little abrupt and rushed, but this time when I went in it was like he was he was a completely different person, and he took all the time I needed to answer my questions and take care of my needs. I'm glad I gave him a second chance because I did feel that first day like maybe something was going on and he was just extremely busy. I would definitely recommend him to others.

The staff was very friendly, very helpful, at least the girl that assisted me when I checked in and was explaining to me about an outstanding bill that I was not aware of and not aware that my insurance wasn't being billed correctly. So we got it all straightened out and hopefully my bill will be covered and paid for in full. And then she sent me up to the Dr. Lee's office and the staff as well as downstairs was very, very helpful. I would go back to that office again. Thank you.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I was really appreciative of Dr. Lee and his visit with me this past, I think it was Thursday. He brought, he went through my results with me and made everything easy to understand, really accommodating. So, everybody at PIH is awesome. I've never really had a bad experience to be quite honest with you, but Dr. Lee kind of went above and beyond, which I think is tough because PIH has just great service, but Dr. Lee was really, really cool. My experience with Dr. Lee and all the doctors at BIH are excellent. I love them all. However, the most frustrating thing with your system is trying to get in hold with one of the receptionists or someone that can give you directions as to when the next appointments are or scheduling. Sometimes it takes 30 to 45 minutes and after waiting that length of time, even with a call back, the person will hang up on you either by accident or just out of frustration because of the lateness of the time. I noticed that calling it up before the office closes is the worst time because you don't get an answer. It's just awful. The customer service is horrific. It should be someone that can answer the phone, at least put you on hold and get back to you in a timely fashion, not 30, 40 minutes. Expressing yourself with seniors, that's unacceptable.

The young girl (name removed) who took my cast off and gave me another one. I have another 3 weeks in it and didn't hurt me. Place it perfectly and my fingers are able to move more and really grateful for her, because I remember seeing her once before and she was really sensitive to my needs. Thank you!

This survey doesn't address the issue that I had. I wasn't making an appointment. I was calling to try to find out how much I might owe for my insurance. And I was told by the gentleman that I had to call another office, but he couldn't find the phone number for the other office or didn't try to find the phone number for the other office and sent me back to the receptionist to transfer me to the other office. And I sat on hold for 12 minutes and nobody came back to pick up my call. He should have taken the time to find the correct phone number for me to call. I spent another half an hour trying to find the number and get to somebody that could actually answer my question. Thank you.

Dr. Lee was very professional and seemed interested in helping me. I felt well taken care of. Check in receptionist was lovely. X-ray tech was fine. The assistant that escorted me into the exam room was efficient and the assistant that escorted me to check out seemed bothered that she had to do so

I made an appointment with Dr. Lee for a second opinion where Dr. (name removed) said that I needed hand surgery. Dr. Lee actually requested an MRI done on my hand and it turned out I did not need surgery. So I am so grateful to him. He took time. He is a great doctor and I would recommend him to my family. I'm so thankful I didn't need unnecessary surgery and yeah, that's it, thank you.

The doctor was very nice, very respectful. I explained the experience that I had previously and what I wanted to accomplish in his office. So he suggested that we try a procedure that unfortunately didn't work. So I wasn't real sure what the result would be. And I felt like I wasn't sure if the doctor was experienced in the procedure. But overall, he was very nice, very helpful. And I believe he did the best he could. Thank you very much.

The only issue I saw was that the seating arrangement blocks an aisle to exit, so patients have to maneuver through the line to check in. Very awkward and when I was there a patient had a motorized wheelchair. The waiting area definitely needs to be re-arranged.

The way I see the doctor is like he just give you like, okay, is it painful? Do you want an injection or you want a surgery? He didn't take the time to see your hand, see what kind of issue do you have. I heard he's one of the best, but he is not have a connection with the patient. You have to tell him what he needs to see for see your case. So I don't know if I explained myself, but he is like, okay, I have two options, injection or surgery. He even have the time to extend your hand.

Well, making the appointment was extremely easy and the provider was very knowledgeable and explained the procedure to me and saw me in a timely manner. So I liked the provider and the care that he provided to me. So overall I was very happy and satisfied with the care I received.
