What I like the most about Dr. Beckham, he came to my room when I was in the hospital and explained everything to me and exactly what he said, the exact thing happened. I was expecting pain and soreness, but there was no pain, there was no soreness. And after the surgery and the follow-up at his doctor's office, everybody was polite and kind and everybody knew their job well and I was really impressed with everything that went on. I would recommend Dr. Beckham to anybody that's going to have a heart problem. I think he's an outstanding individual.

Dr Beckham has been my cardiologist for a number of years and I think a great deal about his wonderful care. He used to be close by my home when he was in Whittier. I have followed him to Downey because he is such a good doctor.

Dr. Beckham saved my life three years ago and now is helping to take care of a medical problem associated with my cancer treatment which has given me 6 weeks of swollen ankles and legs and I am beginning to have relief after his prescribing medication to take care of the problem at this visit.

PIH is and assembly line medical experience get the patient in see them as fast as you can and get them out the door so you get to the next patient that's corporate medicine in America today if that way no matter what medical practice one may go to why should PIH be any different it's not

Dr Beckham spent time with me explaining what happened with me and how to move forward for the best results for me. He also changed my prescription so I would be out of breath. Lupe spent time helping me with all issues prior to seeing Dr Beckham.

I was there 30 to 40 minutes after my time of arrival. My time to be seen was at 3:45 and I was seen about 40 minutes after, 35 to 40 minutes after that. That's it.

Dr. Beckham has been my Cardiologist for almost six years, and I have always felt he has taken good care of me, and I trust him. We have very thorough conversations, and he covers all the pertinent aspects of my heart condition with me on each periodic visit. In addition, he periodically has me do echocardiograms that provide essential information pertinent to my heart condition, and he keeps me up to date on the development of new potentially pertinent procedures. I feel fortunate to have him as my cardiologist.

Hi, this is the first time that I've been to a cardiologist where they did not actually do an EKG. I understand that they are very busy, but it kind of seems standard. I also noticed in his notes later that he said, I am doing well, or I've been doing well, when actually I told him that I had not been, and that I was fatigued and busy. So I just hope that this stays anonymous, because I don't know if I will need to go back. But I just especially wanted to know that it seems like an EKG is a standard thing. I know that they're busy, but you'd think it would be a good idea. Okay. Thanks.

I'm a long time patient with Dr Beckham. I moved with him to the Santa Fe Springs office because I like and trust him to provide excellent care. The little longer drive is ok because the parking is better. Parking lot at the Putnam building is a nightmare- never enough parking spaces and long lines at exits makes for a stressful visit to providers in that building.

Dr. Beckham is an excellent physician. He takes the time to listen to my history and what I have to say and he's very cautious with setting up future appointments when you have something that could be problematic. I have a mitral valve prolapse so he monitors my condition and he's a good physician, great physician. Thank you.

I have always been very fortunate to have Dr. Beckham as my cardiologist. He is always so pleasant to talk to and always takes the time to answer any questions and concerns I may have to keep me healthy. I would recommend Dr. Beckham at any time!

I would like a system whereby when you're waiting in the room, they keep you appraised of are you the next one up? Are there three other people before it gets to you? So you have some inkling of when it's going to be your turn. I tend to get very unhappy about waiting. Thank you.

My experience with Dr. Beckham is always good. One recommendation I would like to make is having registration on the same floor as the office. I don't like the fact that registration is located with Urgent Care. Patients, healthy and ill, are waiting in the same area where germs can pass. Not a good situation.

My visit with staff was positive. My only negative for today was the parking situation. After driving around with no luck I finally settled for street parking. Fortunately I arrived with time to spare

The office visit was great, but the follow up communication was poor. I was told that someone would call me the next morning regarding a needed treadmill test. After not hearing from anyone for 2 days I decided to call, and they referred me to another location. When I called there I was told at that time that yes, my appointment was scheduled. I don't feel that I should have had to call anyone..........someone dropped the ball.

I was disappointed that he could only see me at Downey Hospital. Presbyterian is closer to me.

I find that most of your specialists are booked way too far. There seems to be a need of using perhaps different facilities for PIH in order to accommodate more patients. Because six months wait for someone who's had a stroke, I find way too long and unacceptable.

The check-in process combined the walk-in clinic with folks with appointments. This exposed me to an array of coughing and sneezing snotty nosed kids and other probably contagious people. This needs to be stopped, it's just not right, safe. It's an uncomfortable violation of your promise to do no harm. Not to mention exposing your organization for this health risk to those in your care.

I did not like the check-in process, one floor and then being transferred to the third floor and having no personnel in the lobby until your name is Count called out. I thought that was kind of a distance and I did not like it.

I am totally satisfied with Dr Beckham and his staff. I would certainly recommend them. I am disappointed with the PIH administrations decision to move him from the main PIH facility in Whittier to Santa Fe Springs. ( Bloomfield office). With the move, all of his procedures will be done at the Downey hospital rather than the Whittier hospital. This is considerably further from my home and I might have to change doctors.

Dr Beckham, explains my heart issues in a way that I can understand. He encourages me to do my part to be the best me I can be. Encourages me to be mobile and busy and at the same time to make time to rest. All medications he prescribes for me are explained in a way that I know exactly why I need them. I am very satisfied with the care I receive from Dr Beckham.

Can be more specific and more detailed on discussing my EKG. Instead of telling me everything's normal, there was an abnormality.

It was my first time to this office. The check-in was different than I had in the past. Once an other patient told me what to do I finally was send to the third floor. The wait there was short. I was seen by the Doctor on time.

I like the doctor. Well, however, when I first showed up, first-time patient, I checked in. The person checking me in just left to do something else, and she didn't hand over the paperwork or the thing. I had to go back up to the desk to get checked in, but the one who did check me in, I was very good. So, anyways, that's my feedback.

My first visit to Dr. Beckham. Wish I had been provided with earlier appointment as I had just been diagnosed with heart issues and needed more medication sooner rather than later. I understand the busyness of health providers and would hope if I had more critical need I would have been brought in sooner.

The receptionist is very polite and she smiles. The Assistant did a good job, explained the EKG procedure. And Dr Beckham is so nice to talk with, very comfortable with him. I highly recommend him. The service I got was excellent!!

The Design of the Buiding is a huge problem with reference to a giant lobby that checks all people in and houses the same space for Urgent care. The potential for cross contamination going on is unproffessional. I came for a cardiology appointmnt and was exposed to everything circulatng in that room. I will most likely be finding a new physician

Dr Beckham listens to the patient. He is extremely knowledgeable, expertise in his field. His staff is kind and helpful.

Dr. Beckham is so nice and really sets me at ease. He's thorough and explains things so they can be easily understood by a layperson. I highly recommend him. My only disappointment is that he doesn't work from Whittier Presbyterian Hospital anymore. I would much prefer Whittier Presbyterian as Downey Presbyterian Hospital is farther away from me.

Online scheduling is a pit, o site face to face scheduling is much quicker.

A mostly and a 9 rating was ONLY due to wait times in the past. This last visit 6/2/25 was exceptionally speedier by comparison as far as wait time both in the waiting room and actual in-patient room waiting - - a huge improvement!

I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time and then sat in the waiting room for about 45 minutes. After the nurse finished her preparation (she was fairly brusque) I waited another 20 minutes in the exam room to see the doctor.

17 patients in the waiting room. Record number of patients 35 minute waiting time PLUS wait in the exam room.

It did take over a month to get the appointment scheduled.

Had to wait over half hour in the office.

15 minutes just is insufficient when a person gets older. It's not d The physicians' fault, it's the system. This last visit needed conversation on my part. I realize there are patients in worst condition but as we age, our bodies change almost imperceptibly, and affects conditions that affect blood pressure which affects quality of life. I love Dr. Beckham and appreciate him to the max!

My experiences as a patient of Dr. Beckham and PIH have been excellent. Dr. Beckham couples his professionalism and inter-personal skills in way very few doctors are able. He is very patient and thorough in providing answers to all medical questions asked of him. When in his care, you feel very confident of his concern for your well-being. Staff members are very short, rude, seem to act like they know more than me. That maybe true but still act like you care. Seems they are more involved with what's going on in the office than the patients. Always like this. Only office I've been to at PIH like this.

Great Doctor

5 ladies in front office, 4 laughing, singing to music, speaking in Spanish only to eachother. The one helping me (Black) to schedule ultrasound (JULY!!) excluded from their convo and I could barely hear her speak. I think the 4 speaking Spanish in office were unprofessional and rude.

The medical team explained carefully what procedures would be performed. They were calm, patient and reassuring.

The staff was really, really nice and very kind and very helpful and respectful. It just takes too long to get in to see the doctor and also to get extra tests done, the ultrasounds and the heart monitors and things like that. It takes a little bit too long to get those things in place. And then getting a call back from the doctor or the nurse was difficult. I asked for a call back and I haven't received one yet.

He and his staff care for the person not just the patient

Whoever is responsible for getting the authorization from the insurance company needs to be more proactive in their communications with both the insurance company and the patient. Being told that you're appointment had to be canceled due to not receiving the proper authorization from the insurance company at 4:00 pm the day before your procedure is completely unacceptable. This is especially true when the appointment was made more than 2 months prior. I was able to get the authorization after contacting the insurance company and telling them what happened. There was obviously no second effort to procure the authorization. I am very disappointed in this aspect of the services.
