Jason Lai, MD, FACS is a board-certified urologist at PIH Health. He specializes in surgical care of patients with genitourinary issues, such as prostate enlargement, also known as benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), voiding dysfunction, kidney stone disease, urinary incontinence and infections, and sexual dysfunction. Although he enjoys practicing general urology, he has interest and wide experience in performing minimally-invasive surgery such as no-scalpel vasectomy, laser surgery, Urolift procedure for BPH, cryotherapy and percutaneous kidney surgery.  

Dr. Lai has extensive experience with implant surgery, including penile prosthesis, sling and artificial urinary sphincter operations. Dr. Lai also treats cancer of the genitourinary tract, including prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancer. Additionally, he has been trained in laparoscopic and DaVinci robotic surgery. 

Over the past 15 years, Dr. Lai has enjoyed being part of the PIH Health system.  Diversity, culture, and cohesive multigenerational family units are some examples of why he enjoys being part of the community.

The doctor is very smart but I felt as his evaluation was too quick of my overall kidney -bladder health, just based in a ct scan, with no questions of me to determine if there were other issues or not. I went to ct scan due to pain, and xcessive urination, pressure in my pelvis and lower back - didn't get to say that. Plus I'm not sure if he actually saw the scan and based his decision on the narrative provided by image company. Thank you

Front office staff needs to be attentive, pleasant and courteous. I requested something regarding my medical files and they did not assist me with info. I felt like they didn't really pay attention as to what I was asking for. I'm not happy about that. Seems like they didn't put much effort to assist me on that. I would greatly appreciate it if someone from PIH can get in touch with me regarding this matter. Thank you.

Dr. Lai was knowledgeable and very even tempered, very pleasant to deal with, and seemed to have a very logical and reasonable approach for my particular case and situation. His office staff were patient and helpful and I would definitely recommended this doctor.

Dr. Lai was very patient and explained to me the different options and possibilities. My concern is that I didn't realize I will be working with a licensed nurse for the procedure. So I was taking a bit of by surprise on that. That was my biggest concern versus a doctor.

Dr was Matter of fact, not a good lister, talk fast and didn't seem to care. Your visit 200.00. He spend less than 5 mins with me. I left feeling mad and bother.it sucked I will never recommend that office. Maybe he doesn't like his job,

We are so glad to be back with Dr. Lai when last year, when the company changed. We were told, we couldn't see him anymore. And when we went to a different urologist, which put my husband on medication, that he should never been put on. So we're definitely glad to be back with Dr. Lai.

Good evening. This is (PHI removed). I am very glad to receive care from Dr. Lai. I am totally confident on his expertise, which is kidney disease, radiologist and I liked him very much, all the medications that he has given me being. Alright, I really correct. The problems that I have and I totally would recommend him as a physician. I like totally a lot.

I had to wait 8 wks for an appointment. Unacceptable!!! MD didn't really explain anything about my condition or the medication he prescribed. He wasn't very clear about anything. The front office wasn't very helpful or efficient. I'm loath to return for a follow up.

The doctor was very good. She give us our time to explain. The problem is with the office. The office leaves you on hold for a very long period of time. Sometimes they pick up and hang up when you had already been on hold for 15 to 20 minutes. They need to pay a little bit more attention to to have a better phone system office. That's it. Thank you.

The physical reception area and furnishings are worn, old, and unattractive. The office atmosphere is cold and uninviting. No complaints about the personnel; or the attention. The care was certainly, excellent and the physician and staff are very caring

When I took my father to the doctor's office, I specifically asked the nurse to let me know what was going on. And that I could speak with the doctor. Since my father, forgot a lot of the things that the doctor would say. And I couldn't go in the office with the doctor because my father did not want me to. Although he doesn't mind me knowing things, but it was a very personal... personal part of his body that had to be revealed. And of course, I wasn't going to go in there, but the doctor never ones came to speak to me. And I had asked that I know what's going on. So that's the reason why I am making a comment. I'm done.

It is absolutely impossible to speak to anyone in the office on the phone. You are held on, on hold for 10 minutes at a time and it's it's impossible to get through and when I'm told that I will get the results and they'll call me. I'm still waiting and waiting and waiting.

The office staff could try to meet the patient's needs by trying to be more flexible in scheduling appointments. It seems as if they are not willing or able to make a special effort if a patient has an urgent need in regard to time.
