Dr. Thompson credits a college course in human physiology with his decision to enter medicine. “Learning about the amazing ways our bodies move and function was so fascinating, I changed my major from history to biology,” says Dr. Thompson. The opportunity to surgically treat life-threatening or life-altering conditions in patients, especially in women with breast cancer, is hugely satisfying when he can return them to good health. Dr. Thompson serves on the board of trustees at Biola University in La Mirada. He takes medical missions to the Southern Philippines and enjoys travelling with his wife and family. One of Dr. Thompson’s hobbies is “spoiling our grandchildren at every opportunity.”
