Mai-Anh Vuong-Dac MD is a board-certified family medicine doctor who pursued a career in medicine because her father inspired her as a family physician. She wanted a profession that allows her to build trust and provide personalized care.

“Being able to treat adolescents/young adults, their parents, and even grandparents gives me a view through the lens of the whole family – the structure, environment, and dynamic,” stated Dr. Vuong-Dac. “Understanding my patients helps me to develop more meaningful relationships with them.”

Dr. Vuong-Dac earned a doctorate in medicine from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine in Little Rock. She completed her residency at PIH Health Whittier Hospital, where she served as chief resident and received the “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” award from the staff at the PIH Health Family Medicine Residency where she trained and worked for three years.

In her spare time, Dr. Vuong-Dac enjoys reading thriller and mystery novels.

I credit Dr Vuong Dac with helping me lower my A1C as well as lose a significant amount of weight over the last few years. During this last visit, she listened to what I had to say concerning issues and complaints about my health and let me know that she was on top of it. I was also made aware of certain over-the-counter medications I should probably avoid.

Hi, I was so glad to have met my primary doctor, Dr. Voung-Dac. I hadn't met her because she was on a maternity leave, but I told her that I met (two names removed), and they were all both really good. They gave me a lot of good care and everything. But I was so happy to have met my primary doctor now, and I really liked her, so did my daughter. She said she was so thorough and so understanding, and so she really took a lot of time with me and went through all my history. So I was happy and glad to have met her, and told her I was happy to be with PIH all the time. I always tell all my friends that I've never had no problems and.

It was my first time seeing Dr. Vuong Dac as my new primary doctor, after seeing my prior physician for over 30 years (Dr. name removed). She was absolutely wonderful, and you are privileged to have her on the PIH staff.

This doctor is the best after having difficulty getting an appointment because the doctor I was scheduled to meet called in sick. Scheduling was able to get me an appointment with this doctor in a timely manner, thank goodness. And I like her. I like her so much that I have requested that she becomes my primary care physician now because my primary care for the last three or four years is retiring. I want this doctor to be my primary care. She is fantastic and spent time getting to know me, understanding what my problems were, what my health issues are. I'm going back to see her again.

Hi, this is (PHI removed). I love how the office doesn't make you wait a long time and they're very courteous every time I come in. The only thing I was concerned about was I didn't get lab work and because I have a thyroid issue. I should have asked and I forgot because I had a cardiac issue and that's what we spent most of our time on. Otherwise, it was a great visit.

I am a heathy 56 year old woman. I went in for an annual physical but I wish the doctor would have asked a few more questions as to how I was feeling that day. She reviewed my file and compared from last year. Each doctor should spend at least 20 minutes with their patients . Felt my visit was too rushed. But I wouldn't change my doctor she is a nice lady.

Dr Voung-Dac was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I was comfortable with her. I had to wait several months to see her. I must wait more than 5 months for my wellness visit which was scheduled yesterday. Not really her fault and not really acceptable to me.

First time meeting Dr. Vuong Dac and I truely was impressed! I had Dr Homes for 30 years plus and not one complaint , so I was leary to have a new Doctor!! I'm very happy with her knowledge, expertise and bedside manner. My only concern was I had made my well check appointment in 2025 for January of 2026,however I received a call and I was moved to march of this year. Other than that issue, no complaints! Thank You PIH!!

Yes, my last appointment was last year in November and now we're in March and I never got a reminder call. When it's that far in between, it's hard to remember that you have a doctor's appointment. I question them and they say they call three different times. They're supposed to, but nobody ever called me. So that's a problem for me. Luckily that morning I got up and looked at the calendar and saw I had an appointment, but other than that, that's about it. I would like ?

Dr. Vuong-Dac was very thorough in explaining the results provided by the recent lab test done. She went ahead and recommended different modifications that I can go ahead and make in order for me to improve my health in the diabetes. And then we talked about medications that I'm currently taking and how well they are, the positive results that I'm seeing after taking their recommendations. So I would highly recommend Dr.Vuong-Dac and Dr. (name removed) from this facility.

She is terrrific. Has a good long memory of my issues. The person setting up the appointment was quite mistaken with the necessary dates and placed the next appointment 4 months away. That was frustrating. I waited from November to see her.

I just would like to say that the receptionist in the front, (name removed), I've never seen her before, but this time I had an interaction with her. She was very nice, very helpful. I really, really appreciate her help. Unlike (name removed), the other lady that's been there for 24 years, I think that she needs training or someone that can talk to her. She's always looking mean, upset, and not nice.

My doctor was very much in tune with my needs as a patient. I had some concerns about some recent health issues and asked her about a game plan for dealing with them. I wanted straight forward answers and she was on top of my needs giving me a compassionate explanation saying she will do all in her power to keep my health in check. I fell like this doctor is a doctor who loves her job and is willing to go the extra mile. But the medical assistant wasn't the best she was just doing her job and I could feel that. The earliest physical appointment when I called in AUG, 2025 was JAN, 2026. This is ridiculous. I understand there was one doctor retiring and a couple were out (maternity leave, etc.), but if it truly takes this long to get appointments, then the office should make the next physical appointment at the end of the appointment, like dermatology does.

The doctor was very, very polite and very helpful and let me know everything that went on and what could happen. She was a good decision for me to make things, you know, my own. And everybody there was very kind and pleasant. And my doctor is always so professional and kind. And she listens. She's a good listener and gives me good advice. So I definitely would have someone, you know, I would definitely have somebody there, any of my friends that they should be, you know, going there. The whole staff from check-in to check-out was very nice and professional. The office manager came to give my daughter's coloring books, which I really appreciated because I had them with my visit.
