Mai-Anh Vuong-Dac MD is a board-certified family medicine doctor who pursued a career in medicine because her father inspired her as a family physician. She wanted a profession that allows her to build trust and provide personalized care.

“Being able to treat adolescents/young adults, their parents, and even grandparents gives me a view through the lens of the whole family – the structure, environment, and dynamic,” stated Dr. Vuong-Dac. “Understanding my patients helps me to develop more meaningful relationships with them.”

Dr. Vuong-Dac earned a doctorate in medicine from the University of Arkansas College of Medicine in Little Rock. She completed her residency at PIH Health Whittier Hospital, where she served as chief resident and received the “Above and Beyond the Call of Duty” award from the staff at the PIH Health Family Medicine Residency where she trained and worked for three years.

In her spare time, Dr. Vuong-Dac enjoys reading thriller and mystery novels.

I waited way too long for a response for a follow up appointment so that I could leave the office. Need more staff to complete appointments so that patients could leave office.

Dr. Vuong-Dac is great and the staff is great. The problem is, what it always is, is you can't get an appointment. They're overbooked and that's a significant issue.

I just would like to say that the receptionist in the front, (name removed), I've never seen her before, but this time I had an interaction with her. She was very nice, very helpful. I really, really appreciate her help. Unlike (name removed), the other lady that's been there for 24 years, I think that she needs training or someone that can talk to her. She's always looking mean, upset, and not nice.

My doctor was very much in tune with my needs as a patient. I had some concerns about some recent health issues and asked her about a game plan for dealing with them. I wanted straight forward answers and she was on top of my needs giving me a compassionate explanation saying she will do all in her power to keep my health in check. I felt both relieved and confident with her honesty and commitment. I thanked her for the support and encouragement.

The doctor was AMAZING! I feel like she ACTUALLY cares! I'm actually Turing over my daughter to her who is turning 18. I fell like this doctor is a doctor who loves her job and is willing to go the extra mile. But the medical assistant wasn't the best she was just doing her job and I could feel that. Not the friendlier and could tell she didn't care

The earliest physical appointment when I called in AUG, 2025 was JAN, 2026. This is ridiculous. I understand there was one doctor retiring and a couple were out (maternity leave, etc.), but if it truly takes this long to get appointments, then the office should make the next physical appointment at the end of the appointment, like dermatology does.

The doctor was very, very polite and very helpful and let me know everything that went on and what could happen. She was a good decision for me to make things, you know, my own. And everybody there was very kind and pleasant. And my doctor is always so professional and kind. And she listens. She's a good listener and gives me good advice. So I definitely would have someone, you know, I would definitely have somebody there, any of my friends that they should be, you know, going there. So I'm pleased with everything and I'm happy, very, very happy about everything that's going on with the doctor and the group there. Thank you so much.

Dr. Vuong-Dac is a wonderful doctor and I have recommended her to all my family and friends. She is kind, patient, respectful, understanding and all around a pleasure to see. The only downside is that she is so good and now popular, sometimes it's hard to get an appointment to see her. But she's worth the wait.

The whole staff from check-in to check-out was very nice and professional. The office manager came to give my daughter's coloring books, which I really appreciated because I had them with my visit. Dr. (PHI removed) is a great provider and listens carefully and addresses all my needs. I really appreciate the whole entire clinic for this wonderful experience in my healthcare journey.

Well, I first want to say that I didn't listen to the first questions. I didn't know you were going to go from one to four, and I pressed two, two, two, which really and truly were not accurate, should have been four. The very first one was definitely a one because it's hard to get in to see her. She's very, very busy. This time around, we just didn't talk about my diabetes, which we talked about other things, and she is helping me with those things, but we forgot about the diabetes. So I'm going to have to call and talk with.

This was my first visit with this particular doctor and I was very impressed with her professionalism and her compassion and I was very pleased in every way. And her team, as I felt ill while I was in the room with the doctor, I got a severe migraine and her team was so compassionate and they were wonderful. They all took very good care of me and reassured me that I could stay and, you know, I had ice packs and everything and needed to be in the dark and that I could stay and not too worry.

My experience was a good one. However, appointment dates are too far out, my family is not happy to have to wait a month and beyond to see a doctor. Luckily, I was seen 2 weeks after I had been in the hospital following an emergency visit. It probably should have been sooner in hindsight. I experienced TIA's and this was my follow-up visit with my primary physician. Therefore my question is; Why does it take so long to get scheduled in.

Love Dr. Vuong-Dac's personable manner. I would have appreciated her knowing that PIH does not contract with LabCorp, as this caused some stress when I went for my labs. (Although she changed it from Quest upon my request, as I had pre-scheduled an appointment.) Big complaint is with the office staff. They're not friendly and have asked for my cards twice now despite my uploading them three times.

I have never before had a doctor that I was referred to by a family member and then suggested to a friend. Dr. Vuong-Dac is not treating my brother in law and his wife who suggested her to myself and my wife. My wife has also suggested the doctor to her best friend. This is a testament to how excellent Dr. Vuong-Dac is as a physician and that her bedside manner is head and shoulders above the rest.
