Rodina Vatanparast MD began her medical training early at King Drew Medical Magnet High School affiliated with UCLA Medical Center. There, she had the opportunity to perform bench research in oncology and her desire to care for people in their most vulnerable state using cutting edge research/science and medical advancements drew her to hematology/oncology as a specialty. Dr. Vatanparast feels her specialty gives her a unique opportunity to deliver up-to-date and personalized cancer care while empowering patients to make informed medical decisions. She has served as chief medical resident of over 150 internal medicine residents in 2nd largest residency program in U.S. She has chaired a number of committees, published in major medical journals including JCO, Blood, and British Medical Journal. She has participated in more than 75 clinical trials. Dr. Vatanparast has been awarded Super Doctors Los Angeles designation for more than 3 years. She is looking forward to serving the Downey and surrounding communities with advanced cancer care.
