Sahir Gharib MD is a Family Medicine physician with a subspecialty in Sports Medicine. Dr. Gharib completed his fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Louisiana State University. His additional training focused solely on orthopedic care and the use of ultrasound for both diagnostic and interventional procedures. He has worked with high school, collegian and professional athletes. 

Dr. Gharib finds it tremendously rewarding to see his patients’ pain and functionality improve after treatment. Medicine is constantly evolving and Dr. Gharib is always looking to improve his craft through additional learning and offering the best available treatment to his patients. He takes time to listen attentively to his patients and believes communication and trust is important to providing the best care.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Gharib loves combat sports. He enjoys playing basketball, snowboarding, weightlifting, hiking, traveling and attending concerts.

I was sent to the lab for lab work on the same day I had my appointment, which was scheduled at 11 o'clock. I had not had breakfast because I knew I was going to have lab work done. However, when I got to the lab, the lab had a note in the door saying they were close from 11 to 1. I would appreciate if they could keep, maybe, I know the day I did get the lab work because the following day, they had two lab people. Maybe they would consider having one lab person go to lunch while the other ones did it. So those of us that are there for specific lab work get seen in a timely manner because I cannot wait until 1 p.m. I hope they understand that I was on an empty stomach and I wasn't feeling well already so that it would be appreciated next time they do have changes schedule where they have one lab person on during the lunch hour and they alternate lunches so that can happen.

Everyone at the clinic has been there several times and they've treated me very well. They're very responsible and I trust them. All the nurses are excellent, and I have nothing more to say. They seem to be very good professionals. Bye.

Very proactive care. I walked out with my next appointment already scheduled, and all of my concerns were addressed. The previous doctor's office I was assigned to dismissed my concerns and told me I was too young. It's nice to finally be taken seriously and not rushed out.

Dr. Gharib addressed all of my concerns, and provided solutions for all of my health issues. He prescribed new medications for me and ordered two x rays as well. I sincerely do appreciate everything that Dr. Gharib does for me.

I was very pleased with the service. I really appreciate that they don't keep you waiting when you arrive. It was my first visit, but I was very happy with the doctor and everyone, from the receptionist at the entrance to the nurse who attended to me. I congratulate them on this excellent service.

It was a pleasure experience dealing with Dr. Gharib. He's specialized in sports medicine. So basically, he usually looks at the patient's history for what is going on right now and he prescribes whatever best for the patient. So I really appreciate that. We always have nice dealing with the staff members, etc. So it's been a fantastic, amazing experience.

This was the first time that I saw Dr. S-A-H-I-R, G-H-A-R-I-B. I didn't want to say his name and get it all messed up, but I thought he was very, very good. You know, for the last 25 years, I had Dr. (name removed) and he was good. So I'm thinking that I'm going to make this guy my permanent doctor. I really enjoyed the way he handled business and I think he's good. Appreciate it.

I'm very happy with this provider. They are always able to accommodate me with or without an appointment when I need to talk to my doctor. I will not switch locations or Doctors. Dr Sahir is very respectful and knows his job very well. He is aware of my medical history and stays on top with his staff if I forget sometimes to follow up. Thank you, Ms. (PHI removed)

Yes, the truth is I really liked that you had an interpreter, that definitely helps us a lot as Latinos since our main language is Spanish, and English in medical terms is very confusing but the truth is I am happy with the treatment and definitely the one who can translate what we want to say, always have interpreters who speak Spanish well so that they can help the Latino community in medical terms, thank you for the attention received and I hope you continue like this... Congratulations!!

There's nothing well that I could say upon my visit. You could improve with the doctors. You could improve with the doctor's medical assistant. Horrible, horrible, horrible service. Horrible customer service. Doctor made me feel bland, like he didn't care. I was like if I was a robot, very monotone. No care, horrible. Just plain horrible.

Well I when in because I felt sick and as soon as I got diagnosed with Covid I was rushed out as if I had the plague. Normally the doctor would ask me if i needed a doctors note for my job as I went in on a Friday but nothing was asked just sent out to go pick up antibiotics. I guess to disinfect the area that was in. I felt a bit rushed no paper with my information was given.

Yes, I am very satisfied with my visit at PIH. I walked in wanting to see Urgent Care. Urgent Care wasn't open till 10 o'clock, and I got there about 8, 8.20 or so. The receptionist was able to accommodate me with an appointment. I was called in very shortly after that, and I was able to see the doctor. So I'm very, very happy with the service. I will definitely go back and I will definitely recommend to my family and friends. Thank you for everything. Goodbye.

I'll keep it anonymous. However, I want to thank Dr. Gharib for doing ultra, I'm sorry, x-rays on my stomach and telling me, prescribing me medication so that it could be cleaned. I do want to reduce this tummy and I want to eventually have a surgery to remove the excess skin. So I want to thank you. And this is not for vanity, this is for health. and aesthetics. I'm an independent business owner and I want to look clean, immune, healthy. Thank you.

For us Latinos, it is very important sometimes to be able to speak with a doctor who speaks Spanish, and it is very important that the person speaks Spanish because when the person who treats you, the doctor, speaks Spanish, they can understand you better. With an interpreter it is not the same, which is why, although I like the care, I do not feel that they understand you very well. Although, they work very well.

Everything went well with my doctor, but I went for a referral to the dermatologist and the referral is going to take at least two weeks for them to call me back to make an appointment and this is because I have a mole on my face. So I think that waiting two weeks just to get an appointment with the dermatologist is unacceptable. I think it should be quicker and sooner, but I have nothing negative to say about my provider there at PIH County. It's just a referral system.

My doctor is refusing to give me my medication. He has them all on hold. His last visit he said, oh, I need your blood work first. Well, you know what? I have some blood work. I got it PR yesterday. You're going to have it. I'm trying to get it up. I really want a new doctor. I don't want him to be my doctor anymore. Last September, I thought he was going to give me an oxygen machine and then he never got me one. I had to buy my own, but in the meantime, for 15 days, I was suffering, waiting for him to receive the oxygen machine. He let me think he was getting for me. He just let me think that. Well, I don't like the guy. I don't want to be my doctor anymore. I already called your customer patient's advocacy number. They told me to call this number. I did. I left you a voicemail and said to get a call back. You never called me back. Maybe this is a call back. Yeah, I want a new doctor, please.

I want to say, first of all, the first few numbers I hit wrong. I want to give you guys an excellent, above excellent rating. Everything about the office, about the doctor was excellent. He treated me, he listened to me, he was empathetic, he was just, he was great. He was wonderful. He did everything right and now I'm just waiting for my PT reference and I'll be even happier when I get that. But for the most part, I would definitely recommend him to anybody that I know or is in need of a sports doctor. So for everything, it's above excellent. Thank you very much for all your help.

The doctor did not provide details on my injury. He didn't listen to my workout habits, what I do, where I'm living as a construction worker, how I, you know, may have gotten this injury, what exasperated it. All he gave me was, here, go to physical therapy, which I thought was unprofessional. There was no dialogue. I just felt very rushed and very clinical. Really did not pay attention to what I was saying, just what he was trying to describe. Yeah, would not recommend.
