As the first member of his family to attend college, Dr. Stephen Kato MD became interested in medicine while spending time with his friends at the dormitory who were all pre-med students. His initial interest in medicine soon became a passion, but it was during medical student rotations in the Pediatrics Department that he realized he had a gift for working with young families and children. With over 30 years of Pediatric Care experience, Dr. Kato specializes in treating children and adolescents who suffer from chronic illnesses including attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), asthma and diabetes. Especially alarmed by the rising incidence rates of children with diabetes, Dr. Kato works tirelessly to help educate young families about prevention and control of this disease, so their children may live healthy, active lives. His lifelong mission is to provide comprehensive care for the children in the community.
