At PIH Health, we want to support you in all aspects of your cancer journey. In addition to comprehensive medical care, we offer many supportive services to help you along the way.
Cancer Center & Wig Bank
PIH Health is proud to partner with the American Cancer Society (ACS). The Oncology Resource Center is located within the PIH Health Whittier Hospital Infusion Center and is staffed by trained ACS volunteers. You’ll find a wealth of support services and resources, including programs such as Look Good…Feel Better, educational materials, a wig bank and a 24-hour Cancer Information Hotline (562.945.8326). Care Management and Social Services
If you’ve been in the hospital for treatment, our Care Management and Social Services department case managers can help you arrange for a safe and successful return home. Our social workers connect you and your family with resources to help you work with the healthcare system. For more information, call 562.698.0811 Ext. 12453.
Fertility Preservation & Family Building for Cancer Survivors
Cancer and its treatment can sometimes affect a person’s ability to have children. The high cost of reproductive services can be a barrier for some cancer patients and survivors who need to undergo fertility preservation or treatment. Home Health Services
PIH Health Home Healthcare Services provides cancer patients the care and treatment they need at home. For more information, call 562.698.0811 Ext. 65000.
PIH Health Hospice offers physical, emotional, spiritual and social support to patients and their families facing terminal illness. PIH Health has two hospice locations to serve you in Whittier and Pasadena. For more information, call 562.698.0811 Ext. 65003.
Cancer risk assessment and genetic counseling are available at PIH Health for breast and colorectal cancer. This service helps identify and counsel people at risk for family-related or hereditary cancers. For more information, call 562.698.0811 Ext. 12930.
You have access to a wide range of clinical research trials, including treatments and therapies not yet widely available. Participation in clinical trials helps in developing new approaches to managing cancer. Through our relationship with the Radiation Oncology Therapy Group (RTOG) and the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), we participate in multiple cancer clinical trials, including those conducted by the University of California, Davis and UCI Medical Center, Irvine. Oncology Nurse Navigators
The PIH Health Comprehensive Community Cancer Program recognizes how important it is to provide our patients with guidance and support throughout their journey. If you need help with transportation and live within 10 miles of the Cancer Center, PIH Health can help. Licensed, trained drivers can provide transportation in a van with wheelchair accessibility upon request. Ask about transportation help during your visit to the Cancer Center.
Mariposa Boutique - Breast Cancer Support Services
The Mariposa Boutique at the Breast Health Center specializes in products and services for breast cancer patients, including custom prostheses, special clothing, wigs and other items to help you look and feel your best.
