Evidence-Based Practice & Quality

At PIH Health, our nurses are empowered to lead and innovate through a strong foundation of evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and continuous quality improvement. We are proud to foster a culture where clinical excellence, collaboration, and compassion go hand in hand.

Relationship-Based Care

PIH Health has adopted the Relationship-Based Care model for nursing practice. The Relationship-Based Care (RBC) model is centered on the fundamental relationships between oneself, healthcare colleagues, and patients and families. The RBC model serves as the operational blueprint for improving safety, quality, patient experience, and employee engagement.

Shared Governance

PIH Health nurses have a voice in decision-making across all levels of practice. Through our Shared Governance model, our nurses are creating innovative techniques that can ease patients’ stays in the hospital and improve the quality of their lives. The structure of partnership councils allows nurses to take the lead on such issues as patient safety, education, performance improvement, evidence-based practices, and more. This model not only strengthens leadership skills but also ensures that nurses are active participants in shaping the future of nursing at PIH Health.
