Scholarships
PIH Health Downey Hospital offers a variety of nursing scholarships to help current and aspiring nurses pursue further education, advanced degrees, and clinical training. Recipients are selected annually through a competitive application process and are awarded based on their professional achievement, leadership, and service.
Nursing Publications and Presentations
We are proud of the groundbreaking work our nurses do to enhance the patient experience and encourage them to present their work and share their expertise at local and national conferences. PIH Health nurses have been featured in leading healthcare journals and professional media outlets, contributing their insight and innovation through editorial pieces, research reports, and expert spotlights.
PIH Health Downey Hospital also holds an annual Performance Improvement Fair where our various healthcare teams showcase their projects aimed at advancing patient care, safety, and operational efficiency. This collaborative forum highlights staff achievements, encourages sharing of best practices, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement across the hospital.

The DAISY Award is an international program that honors nurses for the profound impact they have on the lives of patients and families. At PIH Health Downey Hospital, we’re proud to participate in this prestigious recognition, awarding exceptional nurses who consistently go above and beyond. Nurses are nominated by anyone in the organization—patients, family members, other nurses, physicians, and staff.
