What is Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment?

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, or OMT, uses hands-on methods performed by osteopathic physicians (DOs) to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases or injuries. During treatment, the physician will move your joints and muscles with techniques that include stretching, light pressure and resistance. Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment may compliment, and can sometimes even replace medication or surgery.
