Benefits of Volunteering

Graphic of word cloudGraphic of word cloudHave you ever thought about volunteering? Maybe you don’t know what to volunteer for or where to start looking. Your local hospital is a good place to check out. There are many areas within a hospital that could use reliable, friendly and helpful people. PIH Health hospitals in Downey and Whittier have many opportunities available.

You don’t need a lot of time, just a few hours a week can make a great impact. And, studies have indicated that volunteers are healthier than their non-volunteer counterparts.

More benefits of volunteering include:

-       Meet new people and socialize often

-       Good emotional health and wellbeing

-       Make a difference and give back with a purpose

-       Use your skills in a productive way

-       Feel involved

PIH Health is a hospital with amazing volunteers that help weekly, daily or even monthly. There are different types of groups to join such as a sewing group, or craft group and many different departments that welcome helping hands. If you’re retired with an amazing skillset, don’t let it go to waste or if you’re just looking to get out and move more, volunteering can help with that, too.

If you’ve been thinking about what to do with those few extras hours, check out A great opportunity is waiting for you! We’d love to have you join Team PIH Health.
