Heart Healthy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
Recipe yields 35 servings
-1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-2 tsp granulated sugar
-3 Tbsp water
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
-1/2 cup flaxseed meal
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-1/2 tsp salt
-6 oz mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
-1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add water and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients with a spoon.
Step 3
Place bowl in freezer for about 30 minutes.
Step 4
Lightly coat baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray. Drop cookie batter by rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets.
Step 5
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven. Let stand for two minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
