Red, White and Blue Parfait
After all of the appetizers, side dishes and entrées from a Labor Day weekend barbecue, you may crave a simple and light dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth. This refreshing red, white and blue parfait is easy to prepare and makes the perfect Labor Day dessert.
Although many holidays bring an array of food choices, it’s important to eat in moderation because all calories count. Swap out unhealthy items from recipe ingredient lists with healthier alternatives when cooking for yourself and your loved ones. In the red, white and blue fruit parfait, we like to use fat-free or sugar-free whipped topping instead of full sugar or high-fat products.
Parfait Recipe
- Ingredients: strawberries (sliced), blueberries and fat-free or sugar-free cool whip or whipped cream
- Directions: Place a few spoon fulls of blueberries and strawberries in a cup, add ¼ cup whipped topping, repeat this step once or twice more depending on the size of the cup. Last step, enjoy!
