Make your skin look as good as you feel

Is your skin looking tired? Stressed? Older? Rejuvenate your skin and lift your spirits with these simple steps, recommended for all skin types, by Sherri Juranek, PIH Health Physicians medical aesthetician.

  1. Drink plenty of water. Water replenishes skin tissue, moisturizes skin and increases skin elasticity.
  2. Maintain a proper daily skincare regimen. This includes cleansing morning and night, using a retinol product or scrub for exfoliation and anti-aging benefits, as well as an antioxidant serum to protect your skin from free radicals, and always applying a sun block.
  3. Use mineral-based cosmetics. Traditional make-up often contains skin-irritating ingredients such as preservatives, parabens, mineral oil, chemical dyes and fragrance. Mineral makeup protects skin from the sun and is useful in calming irritated skin, due to the higher percentage of zinc oxide than found in traditional make-up.
